Who it is for

For writers who start, and want to finish.

i.

Your draft stalled

You have twenty pages and a folder of notes. You need a structure and a deadline that keeps you writing.

ii.

You never show anyone

You write well in private. Here you read aloud to a small group that is on your side.

iii.

You want real notes

Not “I loved it”. Line-by-line comments on what works, what drags, and what to cut.

Your instructor

Clara Voss has edited forty debut novels.

Clara spent twelve years as a fiction editor before she started teaching. She runs every workshop herself and reads every page you submit.

Her rule for the course is simple: every note has to make the next draft better, or it is not worth giving.

“Most first chapters are not bad. They are just hiding the good part on page six.”
